1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the aiSnapApi service ("Service"), available at aisnapapi.com and api.aisnapapi.com, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.

These Terms apply to all users of the Service, including free-tier and paid-tier users. Registering for an API key or making any API request constitutes acceptance of these Terms.

2. Service Description

aiSnapApi is a screenshot and document capture API for developers. The Service allows you to:

  • Capture screenshots of web pages in PNG, JPEG, or WebP format
  • Generate PDF documents from any publicly accessible URL
  • Customize captures with options such as viewport size, full-page mode, delays, and more

The Service is provided via a RESTful API. Screenshots and PDFs are generated server-side using headless Chromium and returned directly to you in the API response.

3. Account Registration and API Keys

To use the Service, you must register for an account and obtain an API key. You agree to:

  • Provide accurate and complete registration information
  • Keep your API key secure and confidential
  • Not share your API key with unauthorized third parties
  • Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized use of your API key

You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your API key. We may revoke or regenerate API keys at any time if we detect misuse or a security concern.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You must NOT:

  • Capture illegal content: Do not use the Service to screenshot, capture, or generate PDFs of content that is illegal in your jurisdiction, including but not limited to child exploitation material, content that violates export controls, or material that infringes on others' rights.
  • Scrape behind authentication without permission: Do not use the Service to capture pages that require login credentials unless you have explicit authorization from the website owner.
  • Conduct denial-of-service attacks: Do not use the Service to flood, overload, or disrupt any third-party website or server. Do not use the Service as a tool for DDoS attacks.
  • Violate third-party terms: Do not use the Service in a way that violates the terms of service or acceptable use policies of the websites you are capturing.
  • Engage in fraud or abuse: Do not use the Service for phishing, impersonation, or any other deceptive or fraudulent activity.
  • Circumvent rate limits: Do not attempt to bypass or circumvent rate limits or usage quotas through any technical means, including using multiple accounts.

We reserve the right to investigate and take action against any use that we reasonably believe violates these Terms, including suspending or terminating access.

5. Rate Limits and Usage Quotas

The Service enforces rate limits and usage quotas that vary by plan. These limits are in place to ensure fair use and service stability for all users.

  • Rate limits are applied on a per-API-key basis
  • Exceeding your rate limit will result in HTTP 429 responses until the limit resets
  • Usage quotas reset on a monthly basis

Specific rate limits and quotas for each plan are published on our website and may be updated from time to time. We will make reasonable efforts to notify users of material changes to plan limits.

6. Pricing and Payment

aiSnapApi offers both free and paid tiers:

  • Free tier: Available at no cost, subject to lower rate limits and usage quotas. No credit card required.
  • Paid tiers: Available via monthly or annual subscription. Pricing details are listed on our website.

For paid plans:

  • Subscriptions are billed in advance on a recurring basis
  • You may cancel your subscription at any time; access continues until the end of the current billing period
  • We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days' notice
  • Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis

7. Intellectual Property

Your content: We do not claim any ownership rights over the screenshots, PDFs, or other output generated through the Service. The content you capture belongs to you, subject to the rights of the original content owners.

Your responsibility: You are solely responsible for ensuring that you have the necessary rights or permissions to capture screenshots of the target URLs. We are not liable for any intellectual property disputes arising from your use of the Service.

Our service: The aiSnapApi name, branding, website content, documentation, and underlying technology are the intellectual property of aiSnapApi. You may not copy, modify, or distribute any part of our service without permission.

8. Service Availability

We strive to provide a reliable and performant service, but we cannot guarantee 100% uptime. Specifically:

  • The Service is provided on a "best effort" basis
  • Free-tier accounts do not include any service level agreement (SLA)
  • Paid plans may include SLA commitments as specified in the plan details
  • We may perform maintenance that temporarily affects availability, and will provide advance notice when possible
  • We are not responsible for downtime caused by factors beyond our control, including third-party infrastructure outages, network issues, or force majeure events

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:

  • The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied
  • We disclaim all warranties, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement
  • We shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, or business opportunities
  • Our total liability for any claim arising from these Terms or the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or $100 USD, whichever is greater

10. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without notice, for any reason, including but not limited to:

  • Violation of these Terms or our Acceptable Use policy
  • Abusive or excessive usage patterns that degrade the Service for other users
  • Non-payment for paid plans
  • Requests from law enforcement or government agencies

You may terminate your account at any time by deleting your API keys and ceasing use of the Service. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ends immediately.

11. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will:

  • Update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page
  • Make reasonable efforts to notify active users via email

Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. If you disagree with any changes, you should stop using the Service.

12. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law. The specific jurisdiction will be determined and updated here as the business structure is formalized. Any disputes arising from these Terms will be resolved through good-faith negotiation first, and if necessary, through binding arbitration or the courts of the applicable jurisdiction.
